ESSE HUERTA SIGNS GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH VIRGIN RECORDS FOR NEW SOLO PROJECT JESSE AND THE SUPERNOVAS

Jesse Huerta has signed a global distribution deal with Virgin Records for his new solo project, JESSE AND THE SUPERNOVAS, which will release music through his newly founded label, Nebulosa Records. The announcement comes ahead of his debut solo album, SOMBRERO, with its first official single, “Interestelar,” set for release on October 21st.

Serving as the sonic gateway to SOMBRERO and introducing the musical language of this new era – “Génesis” released last week – unfolds across three instrumental movements, paving the way for “Interestelar.” Listen here.

Earlier this year, Jesse Huerta first revealed plans for a solo project during a press conference at the Viña del Mar Festival. Now, the singer-songwriter, and producer is preparing to introduce JESSE AND THE SUPERNOVAS, a project that has been taking shape alongside his work as one half of the acclaimed sibling duo Jesse & Joy.

Having spent much of his career writing, producing, and performing music heard around the world, Jesse Huerta is taking a more independent approach with SOMBRERO. Written, recorded, and produced entirely by the musician, the album explores sounds and ideas that fall outside the music audiences have come to associate with his work. Guitars, synthesizers, and cinematic arrangements feature prominently throughout the record.

SOMBRERO was created in Jesse Huerta’s own studio during breaks from one of the longest and most successful tours of his career. Working around a demanding touring schedule, he developed the album over intermittent stretches of time, overseeing every stage of the recording and production process.

“JESSE AND THE SUPERNOVAS was born out of the need to create a space of my own for other ideas, sounds, and creative interests that are also part of who I am. I wrote, recorded, and produced SOMBRERO during one of the longest and most successful tours of my career, making the most of the intermittent breaks and brief stops in an especially demanding schedule,” shares Jesse Huerta. “The time available was limited, but the attention to detail never was. Creating Nebulosa Records allows me to develop this project from the ground up with my own creative direction, while Virgin Records’ global distribution provides the infrastructure and reach to connect with new audiences around the world.”

The agreement with Virgin Records will provide global distribution for releases under Nebulosa Records, allowing Jesse Huerta to maintain creative control of the project while bringing his music to an international audience.

“Interestelar” will be available on all digital platforms October 21, ahead of SOMBRERO, whose release date will be announced soon. In the meantime, Jesse Huerta will continue sharing more from JESSE AND THE SUPERNOVAS through the project’s digital channels.
